    Please don’t stop the music

Rihanna is hot. Ever heard a club song or two and thought to yourself, this shit is hot. Dance your grove, feel the moves, and get it on and don’t know how or why you know and love the song? Well Rihanna is that for me, don’t stop the music and SOS. I went on itunes to buy umbrella and saw a three pack. I listened to the samples with my new itouch ipod and said oh my I love these songs and within minutes was driving my roommates nuts. The new itouch is addictive. Its so easy to buy songs at a "touch" you get itunes built right in connecting to their site through an avaible wifi connection. They show you a list of songs and you can listen to samples. I love remixes and don’t mind  spending a dollar to download a hot mix.  I  soon loaded up the whole fergie album, the new Jennifer Lopez brave (which is hot), a few selective Beyonce songs. I have heard a few beyonce sogns at Halsted’s from beyonce while having dinner. There were a few songs I don’t remember hearing, I later found out they were from the bday album.

So I bought a new ipod on Friday and went for the itouch 16 GB. Still converting from vista to imac, combining music from 3 PCs, and two other ipod’s in itself was a daunting task. I had somehow copied the same music folders with different permissions onto my portable hard drive. This created many duplicates of songs. When I synched with itunes I didn’t have enough disk space. I spent 30 bucks to purchase tidy up which finds and removes duplicates itunes songs even if the file names are different based on MP3 track, song, artist and album information. I first reset all the permissions on all my files and folders, then used tidy up to prune duplicate files. The resetting permissions took a few hours. Tidy up only took about 30 minutes to get through.

There are a few things I don’t like about the touch so beware. The headphone jack has been moved to the bottom. That drives me nuts. I got rid of my psp because of that it’s hard to work out and watch TV recordings that way. Yes, I know you can rotate it but that brings up another point, when playing music if you turn the touch to widescreen, not all the same menu features are available. You would think with more room when you tilted views you would still get the same menu options. Also, enable disk access is either removed from itunes or the itouch itself and now I can’t play music that is only on my itouch through my computer while charging. Also, you can’t port files around from computer to computer. I use a lot of computers since I’m a consultant and like using the current computer I’m at to listen to music as well as having access to my files. I thought only 16 GB of disk space was going to be a problem especially before I found out I had about 10 GB of duplicate files. My collection is now down to around 12 GB. This leaves me room for TV shows. Now if I could only find a case for my arm so I can take my new ipod touch the the gym.
